Crash Pads - What should I get? Empty Crash Pads - What should I get?

Post  cheech Wed Apr 09, 2008 3:15 pm

Hey, has anyone here ever used a So Ill crash pad? They have one on sale for $119 (http://www.soillholds.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=92) and I was wondering about going for that, but then I noticed on sierratradingpost.com one of those Metolius Fat Bastards for $149 (http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/1004374,88484_Metolius-Fat-Crashpad.html), but with a coupon I can get that down to the same price as the So Ill one. Which one should I go with? Or, should I get neither of those and save up for an Organic Full Pad (http://www.organicclimbing.com/)?

Funny that you should mention those Alex...I just bought a new one of the Flashed Air Pads that was on Ebay. I should get it in like a week or so. Sweet.

never tried soill pads before. personally, i cant say i'm a fan of the metolius pads. theyre nice n beefy but seem a little stiff which makes them awkward for uneven terrain and rocky landings. and the shoulder straps are a little uncomfortable for me. the flashed air pad is like landing on a cloud - delicious. and i like my organic pad too.
